Karen Petersen lost 100 pounds and shares her story in her book, 100 REASONS TO LOSE 100 POUNDS, to inspire people to smash their goals!

Karen Petersen announces her new book, 100 Reasons to Lose 100 Pounds, penned after her incredible two-year transition to a healthy body and mind. Combining reflections on the challenges she faced during her journey—moving, a career change, a broken ankle, discrimination, and bullying and resistance from co-workers, friends, and adversaries alike—with her series of 100 YouTube videos, podcast, and mantra, “The hate only served to motivate,” Karen teaches what she’s learned in her book 100 Reasons to Lose 100 Pounds.
Karen started her journey in March of 2012, when, sick and tired of a lifetime of obesity, she came up with her list of 100 Reasons to Lose 100 Pounds. Armed with a list of WHY, she then faced the daunting HOW. Starting simply with a sheet of paper, a pen, and an idea, Karen began her journey to lose 100 pounds, documenting the process by shooting 100 videos – one for each reason on the list.
She sat down, hit record, and said: “My name is Karen, and I am 100 pounds overweight.”
In July of 2014, Karen ultimately SMASHED her 100-pound weight loss goal.
Karen hopes to use her experiences to inspire others to make and break their own goals, be they related to weight loss, achieving a positive mental state, or finding one’s true self. 100 Reasons to Lose 100 Pounds is available in both e-book and paperback format through Amazon.com.

Karen Petersen hails from New York originally, and now resides in Bunnell, Florida. After overcoming a lifetime of obesity, she documented her 100-pound weight loss journey so she could inspire people with her story. She is now an author, speaker, coach, and group fitness instructor. Karen is referred to as the Dark Horse with a Bright Light, the Imperfect Coach for Imperfect people, and also goes by her roller derby name Smash Tank.
