This one is quick. I just wanted to check in on you to see how you are doing. Are you safe? Are your friends accounted for? How are you feeling today?
As for me, I’m in mourning. I tried to stay busy and keep my mind off recent events here in central Florida, and I’m especially avoiding sensational conversations. As a born and raised New Yorker, Irish-blooded, aeronautical university graduate whose first month on the floor in airline operations as a manager was September 2001, I know a thing or two about rising above fear and carrying on.
The first step is just acknowledging where I’m at today. I feel sad. I want to do something, but today, all I can do is just be, breathe, recover, and live my life authentically. I feel that’s going to be the best way to honor my country and my community’s fallen.
I hope life is blessing you abundantly in love, success, family, friends, and all the lovely, priceless things that make us feel amazing.
