Reason #73 – To take a BAMF sports bra picture
BAMF! Definition can be found here on Urban Dictionary 🙂
I’ve got a few posts on my Instagram where I’m shirtless, and there’s even a video toward the end of this series where I shot it wearing no shirt and rocking a sports bra.
There are still some body image things that I wrestle with, like pockets of fat here and there, and the loose skin that I carry with me. However, all those qualities are what make me unique, and it’s by being unique that I’m able to stand out. I’m not like many other fitness and nutrition coaches, I’m the dark horse with a bright light, an imperfect coach for imperfect people.
There’s no image or facade that I’m attempting to pull off here; I’m not one for subterfuge or bullshit, I tell it like it is. My body is a battleground, I’ve put it through hell. I’ve got the scars to prove it.
It takes courage to be honest, vulnerable and authentic about being a flawed person in the very competitive and highly saturated fitness and nutrition field, and I want to be able to relate to people, for my stories and experiences to resonate within them.
Being a bad ass means accepting myself as I am – at my fittest, at my heaviest, at my peak, and in all the valleys in between.
So, here’s to all the bad asses, and y’all go on and rock your sports bras with pride!
