Reason #65 – Because my past is in the past, and I want to leave it there

Second chances are where it’s at, for real. Every day, if we allow them, another opportunity to try again, to find forgiveness, and to create a clean slate is available. The big trick is allowing ourselves to perceive and receive them – that can be challenging!
We judge ourselves so harshly, and it leads to all kinds of self-abuse: addiction, heart disease, staying in bad relationships, allowing an employer to treat us unfairly. choosing ego-based pleasures over the heart’s desires…the list goes on and on. What we really want, what we really need is love, acceptance, and mercy.
The past is in the past, the present moment is all that matters, and with faith, hope and serenity, the future is so, so brilliantly bright.
I’ve been so lucky to go on this health and wellness journey at a great time in my life. I started in my early 30s, still with my whole life ahead of me. What better way to get over the past than by seizing the day? It happens *EVERY* day. Every day presents the chance to boldly move forward, despite what happened before, despite what may come in the future.
All we have is moments. Let’s make them count 🙂
